La La Anthony on the Set of Double Play

La La Anthony is one Afro-Latina who is making moves in both film and television. You can catch La La on Starz’s critically acclaimed drama Power, A+E’s Unforgettable, and soon to be in Spike Lee’s Chi-Raq. Anthony is presently in the Caribbean island Curacao shooting Ernest Dickerson’s Double Play. The movie is based on Curacaoan author Frank Martinus Arion's acclaimed Caribbean novel of the same name.

Set in 1973 and 2010 and exploring the themes of love, loss, and betrayal, Double Play tells the story of Ostrik Salmon’s return to his childhood home, and the memory of a fateful day more than 25 years prior. According to Blackfilm.com, Double Play’s cast includes Lennie James, Colin Salmon, Alexander Karim, Isaach De Bankolé and Mustafa Shakir, Academy Award and Emmy winner Louis Gossett Jr., Melanie Liburd, Saycon Sengbloh, Bronson Pinchot and newcomer Dani Dare. Anthony is playing the role of “Micha.” Double Play will be released sometime next year.
