Afro-Latina Actress Naya Rivera Reportedly Missing and Feared Dead
On Wednesday July 8, 2020, Afro-Latina Actress and Glee star, 33, reportedly went missing and is feared dead after a boat trip in California.
Multiple media outlets are reporting that Afro-Latina Actress and Glee star, Naya Rivera, 33, is reportedly missing and feared dead after a trip to Lake Piru in Ventura County, California. Naya and her 4-year-old son, Josey Hollis Dorsey, rented a pontoon boat and were swimming in the water. About three hours later, another boater found her son sleeping in the boat by himself, and Naya nowhere to be found. The boater immediately notified officials.
On Tuesday Naya tweeted a pic of her kissing Josey with the caption, "just the two of us."
Josey was said to be unharmed and told investigators that he and his mother were swimming, but his mother never got back into the boat. It was not immediately clear how he got back into the boat. Josey is safe and is with family members. Naya and her ex-husband, Ryan Dorsey, divorced in 2018 and share custody of Josey.
Last year, Naya posted a sweet Instagram message to her son for his birthday, captioned "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I am living, my baby you'll be. Happy Birthday Jose! Love Mommy."
The Fillmore Police Department conducted a search-and-rescue operation at the lake, using both air and dive teams, but Naya could not be located. Authorities suspended the search for the night, but plan to resume the search at dawn on Thursday.

Rivera played Santana Lopez on the Fox hit show Glee for six years from 2009, and appeared in nearly every episode of the musical-comedy-drama. She was also on the CBS sitcom The Royal Family and in the comedy film The Master of Disguise.
Our prayers are with Naya’s family and friends at this time.
