Little Ashley Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is all grown up! Just a few days after announcing her pregnancy, and engagement, Ali debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at the 2016 BET Black Girls Rock! award show.
The 37-year old Afro-Latina singer and actress presented Amandla Stenberg with the Young, Gifted and Black Award at the 10th annual event honoring Black women who rock.
Last week, Ali revealed to ET that she is engaged to Dr. Vaughn Rasberry, an assistant professor at Stanford University. The couple met a year and a half ago on eHarmony when Ali decided to give online dating a try. The couple wrote letters for months before they decided to Skype, and eventually meet.
When asked about her fiancé’s proposal, Ali shared:
"He took me on a 45-minute hike in the Redwoods [in Yosemite, California], which he knows I absolutely love. And proposed in the most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect. We're best friends."
The pregnancy was a huge surprise to the couple. The pair was busy with wedding plans when they got the pregnancy news. Ali explained to ET:
“Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely. We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing! Plus, I have the best wedding planner, Michael Russo. He's making everything so fun and stress free!"
The couple plans to wed later this summer.
Congrats Tatyana and Vaughn!
